Of the 242 passengers, 12 were cabin crew members. Reports suggest that former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani may also have been on board the Air India flight bound for London. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reviewed the situation, and Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu is en route to Ahmedabad to assess the situation in person.

Of these, 169 were Indian nationals, 53 British, one Canadian, and seven Portuguese nationals.
